1 1/4 c water
1 c sugar
1 qt strawberries
dash salt
3 tbsp cornstarch
3 tbsp water
1 9-inch unbaked pie shell
red food coloring
In saucepan mix water and sugar and boil until clear. In a separate bowl, mix cornstarch and water. Stir this into sugar mixture and boil until thick, stirring constantly. Add food color to make a pretty red. Add salt and cool slightly. Bake pie crust according to package directions. Fold in strawberries and pour into baked pie crust. Chill and serve with whipped cream or favorite topping.
